• ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp red onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 large Portobello mushrooms, stems removed
  • Wipe mushrooms with a damp paper towel
  • Herbamare to taste
  • pepper to taste
  1. Heat olive oil in a small saucepan at medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and red onions and sauté until softened, approx. 5-6 minutes.
  3. Set aside and cool.
  4. Add basil into oil mixture along with Herbamare and pepper and brush over the tops and bottoms of the mushrooms.
  5. Grill mushrooms over medium heat, continuing to brush with oil mixture.
  6. Allow 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Mushroom burgers can be garnished with hummus or guacamole a large slice of tomato and spring greens all tucked into a spelt bun or onion Kaiser roll or any of the Ezekiel brand buns.
