Angela-Rae Sollows, RAc
“I wasn’t born into a culture where acupuncture was common practice, but I do believe I was born to do this. It was my Uncle Reigh (my namesake) who introduced Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to me. He sought Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Treatments in lieu of Western Medicine after receiving a cancer diagnosis in the 90’s. I witnessed his greatly enhanced quality of life which provided the ability for him to fulfill his ‘Bucket List’.”
These are among the first words of Acupuncturist Angela-Rae Sollows’ Bio. Worth noting, it wasn’t only her Uncle who enjoyed a better quality of life as a result of acupuncture, she also witnessed another family member who has been able to successfully manage debilitating fibromyalgia with acupuncture. She believes we have a lot to learn from this ancient form of health care and that addressing the root cause of the problem, instead of merely treating the symptoms is the key to good health.
Angela-Rae notes that the benefits of Acupuncture treatment are very widespread and can help just about any aliment; including pain management, insomnia, depression/anxiety, fertility issues and stress management. In fact, the World Health Organization recognizes Acupuncture as helping over 100 diseases. As to whether Acupuncture can be used in conjunction with other therapy, Angela-Rae notes that Acupunctureis a nice compliment to any treatment plan or in other cases a “stand alone” treatment.
For Angela-Rae, a healthy life is about more than just the treatment. She also feels prevention is very important in the busy world in which we live today. That’s why she feels it’s ever important that we take breaks and “just breathe”, be grateful & look for JOY in the little moments.
In her world, lifelong learning is a given. Angela-Rae has a thirst for knowledge. She feels this has already served her well in both her life and career, as it has encouraged her to always keep an open mind, while keeping her up to date on the developments in both Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine – much to the benefit of her daily clients.
So now the million-dollar question you (our reader) may have:
To that I would answer, Angela-Rae is a Registered Acupuncturist who has an accreditation at both the Provincial and National level. This speaks volumes about her and her dedication to the industry but just as importantly the dedication to the long term health of her clients.
Besides, as you might recall… “she was born to do this.”
